Strict Parenting
For many Nigerian parents, beating or cursing their children is not uncommon. They often see physical punishment as a quick and effective form of discipline, sometimes believing it works better than approaches like gentle parenting. Using objects such as brooms or flip-flops is often considered normal, and many Nigerian children have experienced—or are still experiencing—this kind of treatment. However, it may be important for these parents to consider and adopt alternative methods of discipline.
Did these experiences of beating or cursing affect you in a positive or negative way?
