Tips on Wearing Make-Up

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder—we all know that. Yet some people still question why others wear makeup, believing that going natural is always best. Maybe that’s true, maybe not. Personally, I see nothing wrong with wearing makeup to enhance your natural beauty. The key is understanding your skin tone and choosing shades that complement it. For beginners (first-timers), here are a few simple tips I use as a non-professional: * Moisturize your face, then wait about five minutes before applying a loose powder. An oil-control powder works well—don’t worry, it won’t bite! * If your eyebrows are already trimmed, great! If not, and you’re hesitant to shape them, apply a small amount of Vaseline and use an eyebrow comb to brush them upward and outward. * Using a pencil in a shade of your choice—ideally soft black or dark brown for tan to dark skin tones—apply it to your lower lids. Beginners may want to avoid bold, bright colors at first. * For eyeshadow, choose a natural or plum shade (stick to one color). Apply it to your upper lids and blend evenly. * Finish with a natural lip color or gloss, and you’re good to go. Once you understand your skin tone and the colors that suit you, you’ve already solved half the problem.
